Leather too rough December 11, 2025 Reviewer: Luke from Alabama   I bought this holster because I like the retention of kydex, but wanted to protect the coating on my new gun. This was not the holster I hoped for. All the downsides of kydex and leather with none of the benefits. The leather pretty much immediately abraded some of the coating on the TRR8. Retention is mediocre at best, but I’m afraid to tighten it more in case it starts abrading the coating in other areas. Also, while the bottom rail is removable on the TRR8, it looks like my “no rail” selection was is ignored. I tried putting on the bottom rail to see if that improved retention and, while the gun did fit better in the holster and finally achieved the “clicky” retention that is the reason I like kydex holsters, the metal rail gouged the leather when I drew it. Silent Thunder Ranger November 8, 2023 Reviewer: Mitch from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia   Excellent holsters! I have an issue where I always purchase firearms I can’t find a holster for. Garrett Industries has now made and sent three Silent Thunder Ranger holsters to me. Each arrived in under a month which is crazy good. Fantastic May 19, 2023 Reviewer: Dominic from Reno, NV   My wife bought me a Colt M45A1, I didn't want a typical holster that will eventually mar the finish on the pistol like Kydex typically does and Garrett Holsters fits the bill for custom fit with smooth draw. The Best! February 26, 2023 Reviewer: Charles from Charleston, SC   Very happy with my Garrett holster, it looks great, holds the gun securely and I don’t have to worry about the gun’s finish against Kydex. The holster rides very comfortably on my hip and doesn’t move around because of the stabilizer. Silent Thunder OWB Holster December 7, 2020 Reviewer: Dave from Canada   Absolutely outstanding holsters. Ordered 2 for SA's (Browning 1911-380 and Colt Wiley Clapp CCO 45 ACP) and 2 for revolvers (Ruger SP101 357 mag and S&W Model 69 44 Mag). The holsters are rigid and robust and their fit and finish is first rate . Leather lining is an absolute must and the handguns slide in/out like butter. Cant is easy to adjust on the sport slide mount, which itself is very sturdy. Above all, the folks at Garrett are superb to deal with. Thanks very much. Was this review helpful to you?

Best Holster made! May 23, 2020 Reviewer: Ken from Salem, SC   Even though I live in SC where the weather is warm more often than cold, my preference is OWB with a loose fitting shirt. With my Glock 43 and Dan Wesson "Guardian" (commander size with bobtail), this holster works great even with a t-shirt. I chose the Police Blue because its a close blend with jeans should the bottom peek out when I reach high. If I have on a sweatshirt or light vest or jacket, it's perfectly concealed even for my Sig P229. So, I have a Garrett "Ranger" for all three! I wish that I had found Garrett holsters about 15-20 holsters ago! The leather lining is easy on my gun finishes as well as a super quiet and smooth draw. I can't say enough about the quality, craftsmanship and comfort of these holsters. Was this review helpful to you?

Silent Thunder OTW May 3, 2020 Reviewer: Larry from Louisiana   This is the second holster I’ve ordered. The first was for a XD 40 perfect fix well made.
